Who am I?
I am Jan van de Kamer, a technical entrepreneur and innovator for over thirty years. I have a broad and unique view of the world of technology, product development and industrialization. With over 30 patents to my name, I have a proven track record in practically realizing creative solutions. My career started as an engineer in embedded systems and industrial automation, where I worked hands-on on complex electronic and software solutions for various applications. My role quickly grew from specialist to international project leader and then to founder and director of various technical companies.

I have built several companies from the ground up, going through the entire cycle from idea to successful market introduction and international growth. In these roles I was responsible for the entire spectrum: from developing technical concepts, applying for patents to setting up production processes and building multidisciplinary teams. My entrepreneurial experience includes leading small innovative startups as well as driving growth to mature companies with international customers and partners.

One of my last projects was the development of an advanced automatic feeding system for horses, for which I not only led the technical design and industrialization, but was also responsible for market strategy, international sales and after-sales service. The result: an innovative patented product that was launched on the market throughout Europe with a successful exit as the crowning achievement of the project.

​This practical experience has taught me to quickly and sharply assess technical risks and commercial opportunities. I am used to quickly reducing complex technical issues to the core of the problem. I also make realistic estimates of costs, feasibility and lead times. My approach is pragmatic: I approach each project with an open mind, ask the right questions and always keep the end goal in mind: a working and marketable product that adds value.

In addition to my technical and business expertise, I have a lot of experience in coaching teams, managing development processes and creating a culture of innovation and collaboration. Clients and partners appreciate my down-to-earth, critical view and my ability to make complex matters clear and understandable, both towards technology and towards management and investors.
